Header Setup Operator

Position Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Set up, adjust, and operate equipment as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Perform first-piece inspections, monitor part quality, and make adjustments to maintain standards.
• Move materials using a forklift or non-motorized equipment as needed.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance (e.g., oiling, filter changes, daily upkeep).
• Work with tooling and maintenance personnel to maximize production efficiency.
• Train and assist other operators and department personnel as needed.
• Suggest and help implement process improvements.
• Maintain daily and weekly 5S requirements.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, or four years related experience.
• Experience Requirement: Four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skills Required: Ability to use gauges and proper gauging techniques; ability to set up and operate various sizes/types of manufacturing equipment; ability to consistently meet production and quality standards; ability to read, understand, and follow operator documentation; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; good communication and teamwork skills; basic math skills for blueprint reading and measurements; understanding of manufacturing processes and machine requirements.
• Prior Experience: Prior experience as a Header Set Up Operator in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
