Position Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Set up, adjust, and operate equipment as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform first-piece inspections, monitor part quality, and make adjustments to maintain standards.
- Move materials using a forklift or non-motorized equipment as needed.
- Perform minor preventive maintenance (e.g., oiling, filter changes, daily upkeep).
- Work with tooling and maintenance personnel to maximize production efficiency.
- Train and assist other operators and department personnel as needed.
- Suggest and help implement process improvements.
- Maintain daily and weekly 5S requirements.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, or four years related experience.
- Experience Requirement: Four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills Required: Ability to use gauges and proper gauging techniques; ability to set up and operate various sizes/types of manufacturing equipment; ability to consistently meet production and quality standards; ability to read, understand, and follow operator documentation; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; good communication and teamwork skills; basic math skills for blueprint reading and measurements; understanding of manufacturing processes and machine requirements.
- Prior Experience: Prior experience as a Header Set Up Operator in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
