Head Wrestling Coach

About the role

Head Boys Wrestling Coach for the Winter Season at Talent Middle School, responsible for coaching 6th‑8th grade boys in wrestling fundamentals, organizing practices and meets, managing equipment, and ensuring athlete safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching around fundamental skills of wrestling for 6th‑8th grade boys.
• Facilitate practices and meets on a timely, consistent basis.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, and paperwork.
• Serve as a positive role model and ensure the safety of all athletes.
• Supervise athletes in the gym, locker room, and on bus trips.

Qualifications

• Successful wrestling coaching experience.
• Adherence to the sports philosophy of Phoenix‑Talent Schools.
• Modeling high standards of behavior.
• Ability to meet coaching certification requirements: FA/CPR, Concussion Training, Anabolic Steroid training, blood‑borne pathogens, etc.
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches.
• Preference given to candidates holding a valid Oregon teaching license.
• Preference given to candidates bilingual in Spanish and English.
