Our mission, “to learn our powers and be answerable for their use,” shapes everything we do—from academics and the arts to athletics and experiential learning.
Wheeler is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community and to providing equal opportunity to all qualified applicants.
We need to remove "How to Apply" and "About Wheeler" (maybe keep some info? The instruction: Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. So "How to Apply" is application instructions, remove. "About Wheeler" maybe not boilerplate but could be considered general info about school; but we might keep if it's substantive? The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep info about Wheeler if it's substantive. However the sections we can output are limited to headings list. We can embed paragraphs under appropriate headings. For "About Wheeler" we could put under a heading like "About the role"? Actually "About Wheeler" is about the school, not the role. Could be considered "About the role"? Not exactly. But we could include it under a heading like "About the role" if we treat that as description of role and school. However the instruction says use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can use those exact headings. We need to decide which sections have content.
Let's map:
- About the role: Could include description of the opportunity, mission, etc. The posting includes "The Opportunity" paragraph and maybe the school description. So we can put that under About the role.
- Responsibilities: The bullet list under "The ideal candidate will have experience with:" actually sounds like responsibilities/duties. Also the schedule mentions responsibilities from March through May. So we can put responsibilities as bullet list.
- Requirements: Could be qualifications? Actually Qualifications section includes Bachelor's degree required, previous coaching experience required, advanced knowledge of lacrosse, strong communication and organizational skills, commitment to student-athlete development and inclusive coaching. That's more like qualifications. Requirements could be similar but we can treat Qualifications as separate heading. The instruction list includes both Requirements and Qualifications. We need to decide which to use. We have both sections present: Qualifications is explicit. Requirements maybe not explicit but we could infer from the bullet list under "The ideal candidate will have experience with:" as requirements. But we could also treat that as Responsibilities. To avoid thin sections, we should combine where appropriate. The instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we might combine Requirements and Qualifications into one section? But we have headings list; we can omit sections that lack real specific content. So we need to decide which headings have content.
Let's see content for each potential heading:
- About the role: We have description of the role, school, mission, opportunity. That's substantive.
- Responsibilities: We have bullet list of experience with player development, recruitment, practice planning, communication, coaching across skill levels, inclusive environment. Also schedule details (March-May). That's substantive.
- Requirements: Could be the qualifications list (Bachelor's degree, coaching experience, etc). That's also substantive.
- Qualifications: Could be same as Requirements; but we have a separate Qualifications heading in the posting. So we could have both Requirements and Qualifications but they'd be similar. To avoid thin sections, maybe we merge them into one heading, say "Qualifications". But the instruction says use those headings if we have content. It doesn't forbid using both if they have distinct content. However we have only one qualifications block; we could treat that as Qualifications and not have a separate Requirements section. Or we could treat the bullet list under "The ideal candidate will have experience with:" as Requirements, and the Qualifications block as Qualifications. That would give two sections with distinct content: Responsibilities (duties) and Requirements (experience/skills) and Qualifications (education, etc). That seems reasonable.
- Skills: Could be derived from strong communication and organizational skills, etc. But we already have those in Qualifications. Might be thin.
- Benefits: Not mentioned besides stipend-supported; no explicit benefits like health, retirement. So we should not create Benefits section.
- Pay: Not mentioned specific stipend amount; only stipend-supported. No concrete pay. So we should not create Pay section.
- Schedule: We have schedule details: part-time, stipend-supported, primary responsibilities March through May, including practices, home/away competitions, team activities, travel. That's substantive. So we include Schedule.
Thus we will output sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Schedule.
We need to ensure we don't include filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present.
We need to remove duplicated lines. Ensure we don't repeat the job title.
We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown.
We'll wrap content in appropriate tags: About the role
then
About the role
then...
for prose,- for lists.
Let's craft:
About the role: combine the introductory paragraphs and school description.
Paragraph: "The Wheeler School seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Head Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach to lead our program beginning in the 2027 spring season. Wheeler is a coeducational, N–12 independent day school of approximately 800 students, with campuses in Providence, Rhode Island, and Seekonk, Massachusetts. A member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) and the Eastern Independent League (EIL), Wheeler is committed to developing student-athletes who are confident, curious, collaborative, and engaged."
Then maybe add "The Opportunity" paragraph: "We’re looking for a coach who will bring strong lacrosse knowledge, energy, and a genuine passion for working with young people. The Head Coach will lead the varsity program while fostering a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture."
We can combine into one or two
tags. Responsibilities: bullet list of duties: Player development and team building; Recruitment and college placement; Practice and game planning; Communicating effectively with students, families, and colleagues; Coaching athletes across a range of skill levels and learning styles; Creating an inclusive team environment grounded in cultural competency. Also maybe include schedule responsibilities? But schedule is separate. Requirements: maybe the bullet list under "The ideal candidate will have experience with:"? Actually we used that for Responsibilities. Hmm we need to differentiate. Let's think: The bullet list under "The ideal candidate will have experience with:" describes what the ideal candidate will have experience with, which is more like qualifications/experience required. So maybe that should be Requirements. Then Responsibilities could be the duties: lead varsity program, foster culture, practices, games, travel, etc. But the posting doesn't explicitly list duties beyond that. The "The Opportunity" paragraph says Head Coach will lead the varsity program while fostering a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture. That's a duty. The schedule mentions responsibilities from March through May including practices, home/away competitions, team activities, travel. That's also duty. Thus we could treat: - Responsibilities: lead varsity program, foster positive inclusive competitive team culture; practices, home/away competitions, team activities, travel with team (March-May). Could be bullet list. - Requirements: experience with player development and team building; recruitment and college placement; practice and game planning; communicating effectively; coaching athletes across skill levels; creating inclusive team environment grounded in cultural competency. - Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; previous high school and/or collegiate coaching experience required; advanced knowledge of lacrosse; strong communication and organizational skills; commitment to student-athlete development and inclusive coaching. That seems logical. Now Schedule: part-time, stipend-supported position, primary responsibilities from March through May, including practices, home and away competitions, team activities, and travel with the team. We already used schedule in Responsibilities? Might duplicate. Better to keep Schedule separate as timing. Thus Responsibilities: lead varsity program, foster positive inclusive competitive team culture. But that seems thin. However we can combine duties from schedule into Responsibilities as well, but then Schedule would be just timing. The instruction says prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe we combine schedule details into Responsibilities and omit Schedule heading. But we have schedule specifics: part-time, stipend-supported, March-May. That's substantive. Could be its own section. We'll keep Schedule. Now we need to ensure we don't repeat info. Let's draft:
