Head Varsity Football Coach

About the role

The position is to begin late summer 2026.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive football program that aligns with Houston Public Schools' mission and values.
• Manage team operations, including scheduling, recruiting, and budgeting.
• Coach players, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
• Collaborate with other school staff to ensure the success of the football program.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience at the high school level.
• Experience with youth development and sports administration.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and community members.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding student athletes and educational equity.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
