About the role

Albemarle High School is seeking a Head Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach to lead the lacrosse program, mentor student-athletes, and promote good sportsmanship while monitoring academic eligibility.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in lacrosse at the high school, club, or collegiate level is required
• Deep knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, game strategies, rules, and player development
• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations
• Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes
• Personal skills that reflect positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents, and the community
• Extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of the sport
• Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules
• Ability to develop a solid discipline that emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship
• Lacrosse coaching/playing experience helpful

Responsibilities

• Mentor student-athletes and promote good sportsmanship
• Monitor academic eligibility of student-athletes
• Organize and prepare practice schedules
• Provide instruction through daily personal and close contact with student-athletes
• Travel regularly with student-athletes to and from matches
• Maintain regular contact with other coaches, administrators, parents, and the media

Preferences

• Preference given to candidates who hold or are eligible for a Virginia teaching license

Pay

Coaching stipend available.

Schedule

After school and weekend hours required.
