About the Role

This position serves as a Head Start Site Director for clustered Y Head Start centers, as well as Y Head Start sites located in Public Schools. The Head Start Site Director provides direct supervision to Head Start Teachers, Assistant Head Start Teachers, Resource Aides, Food Service Personnel, Drivers, and Substitute teachers. The role is primarily responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations, including OCC/Child Care Licensing compliance and Head Start Program Performance Standards. The Head Start Site Director collaborates with other Y team members to ensure high-quality integrated comprehensive services are implemented consistently.

Requirements

  • Must obtain a criminal background check.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. This includes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, adhering to established standards of affection, prohibiting abuse, bullying, or harassment, and mandating the reporting of suspected mistreatment. Associates must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, Child Development, Human Development, Human Services, or related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in an early learning center, preferred.
  • Management of multi-center locations.
  • Knowledge of OCC regulations and HSPPS, preferred.
  • Knowledge of ECERS and ITERS, preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.

Certifications:

  • Earn and maintain CPR and First Aid.
  • CLASS Reliability.
  • 45-Hour Director’s Certification.
  • 90-Hour Certification, if degree is in a related field.
