About the role

As the Head Start Lead Teacher, you’ll play an essential role in providing all aspects of a quality child development program with emphasis on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of preschool-aged children. Each day is an opportunity to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and build a foundation for lifelong success in the lives of children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality educational experiences for preschool-aged children by planning and preparing daily and weekly program experiences while considering the needs of children.
  • Engages in adult-child interactions that are responsive, supportive, and respectful of children’s needs, development, and play interests.
  • Establishes consistent classroom routines and activities.
  • Designs and maintains a warm and nurturing classroom environment which meets the standards expressed in National Association for the Education of Young Children and NH Child Care Licensing regulations.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education; or Associates Degree in a related field with ECE coursework, including Child Growth and Development.
  • Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with young children and their families and relate comfortably to income-eligible families.
  • Attention to detail, confidentiality, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace and early childhood classroom experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Successful completion of criminal record check and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for occasional travel between program locations.

Pay

$22.49–26.06 per hour, based on level of education and relative work experience.

Schedule

Full Time, Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week.
