Head Start - Parent Interns
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting teaching staff by reinforcing lessons, guiding small-group or one-on-on activities, and supporting children in practicing skills.
- Encouraging positive behavior, modeling appropriate interactions, and helping children resolve conflicts in developmentally appropriate ways.
- Maintaining active engagement and awareness to ensure children’s safety indoors and outdoors, while supporting transitions between activities.
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment by assisting with daily cleaning tasks, materials preparation, and resetting learning spaces.
Requirements
Licenses & Certifications Required:
- DCS APS
- CBC Online Check
- DES Criminal Affidavit
- DHS Criminal Affidavit
- Fingerprint Card Level 1
- FPC
- DPS Verification
Qualifications
This role provides valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education while directly contributing to a positive, nurturing environment for young learners.
