Head Start Classroom Aide - Part-time

Responsibilities

• Assisting with educational activities and classroom routines
• Supporting child safety at all times, both inside and outside the classroom
• Encouraging positive behavior and social interactions
• Assisting with activities such as handwashing, toothbrushing, toileting, and meal times
• Helping prepare learning materials and classroom resources
• Building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and volunteers
• Participating in meetings, trainings, and educational field trips
• Completing required documentation accurately and on time
• Depending on assignment, you may also accompany children on a bus and assist with safety procedures during transportation

Pay

$15.19 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; follows a 182‑day school calendar schedule (summers off).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work effectively with young children
• Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and work as part of a team
• Basic technology skills, including email and online trainings
• Physical requirements: stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; lift and carry up to 30 pounds; bend, kneel, squat, reach, and climb stairs; actively participate in children's indoor and outdoor play; respond quickly to ensure child safety

Qualifications

• Bilingual English‑Spanish skills are a plus
