Head Start and Early Head Start Substitute Teacher

About the role

Head Start and/or Early Head Start Classroom Substitute at Roseberry Head Start in Phillipsburg, NJ. Hours are as needed, not to exceed 8 hours a day.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff.
• Support classroom activities and lesson implementation.
• Promote positive child interactions and development.
• Assist with daily routines and caregiving tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum Education Level: High school diploma; must be working towards a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential to be completed within two years of hire.
• Preferred Education Level: CDA, Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Experience working with young children.
• Preferred Experience: 2 years in early childhood education and direct experience with at-risk populations; Head Start experience.
• Personal characteristics: compassionate, organized, flexible, strong communicator, team-player.
• Physical ability to lift 30 pounds.

Pay

$17.28–$19.59 per hour.
