Head Start and Early Head Start Substitute

About the role

Provide educational support in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Assist children in developing essential skills and preparing them for kindergarten.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Implement lesson plans aligned with Head Start curriculum standards.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to enhance learning experiences.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or ability to obtain one within six months.
• Experience working with young children preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development theories and practices.
• Experience with technology in education (e.g., using computers, tablets).
• Pass a background check.

Skills

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
