- Onboard new volunteers — sharing mission, expectations, tools, and team introductions
- Match volunteers to roles based on skills, interests, and organizational needs
- Check in regularly with volunteers to support engagement, address concerns, and prevent burnout
- Track volunteer hours, roles, and retention; report on program health to leadership
- Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions
- Help build and improve volunteer policies, handbooks, and processes
- Coordinate with team leads (e.g., design, marketing, dev) on staffing needs
Who You Are
- Experience in volunteer coordination, HR, team leadership, or people management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized, empathetic, and comfortable managing multiple relationships at once
- Able to give and receive feedback constructively
- Comfortable using tools like spreadsheets, Slack, or volunteer management software
- Passionate about [cause area] and nonprofit work
- Prior nonprofit volunteer management experience is a plus, but not required
What You'll Gain
- Real-world experience building and running a volunteer program
- Leadership and people-management experience for your resume/portfolio
- Flexible, remote schedule
- A letter of recommendation or reference upon request
- The chance to make a direct impact on our mission and our team
