Head of Studio — AI Vertical Drama (Full Remote - USA)
Your Role
EverAI is launching a new vertical short drama studio, powered by a proprietary AI production stack. We're hiring a Head of Studio to own the slate, lead the team, and define what this studio becomes, reporting directly to the CEO and CTO. This is primarily a creative leadership role (70% creative vs 30% operational).
Your Responsibilities
Own the slate: greenlight, shape, and pressure-test every series before production (5–10 concurrent, scaling)
Run the writers' room and script review process — every hook, cliffhanger, and episode beat passes through you
Define and enforce the production playbook: timelines, milestones, handoffs between script, generation, edit, and finishing
Lead and grow our team of directors; support recruiting additional directors and writers from the vertical drama ecosystem
Translate platform performance data (retention, completion, conversion) into creative direction without flattening the work into a formula
Partner with the AI Content and tech teams to keep the pipeline moving and push for tooling improvements
Report directly to the CEO and CTO on slate performance, team capacity, and strategic bets
Your Qualifications
Hard Skills:
- 5+ years in short-form or episodic content, with 2–3 years in a senior leadership role (Post-Production Supervisor, Senior Lead Editor, Showrunner, etc.)
- You've scaled vertical drama at a known player — results visible in the catalog
- Track record of personally shepherding multiple series from concept to launch with measurable audience performance
- Fluid across the full arc — from writing to post-production, not siloed into one half
- You know the vertical drama playbook cold: the beats, the genres that convert, the casting logic, the trailer formula, the platform mechanics
- Existing relationships with directors, writers, and producers in the vertical drama ecosystem
- Hands-on with AI generation tools (Runway, Kling AI, Seedance, Happy Horse, etc.) — you see AI as leverage, not threat, and you understand that continuity challenges in AI production require a different creative calibration than live-action
Soft Skills:
- Communication: Perfectly fluent in English; clear, direct feedback — your directors always know where they stand
- Ownership: You hold a creative bar and a delivery deadline simultaneously, without dropping either
- Doer mindset: You'll be in cuts, in scripts, in dailies — not just in meetings
- Speed: Studio speed, not legacy-Hollywood speed
- Direct but humble: You give clear feedback, you're open to learning a new production model
- Builder-minded: This is a new studio — you'll define processes that don't exist yet
