About the role
The Director, Performance Marketing will report to the VP of Demand Gen & Growth and is accountable for the overall performance marketing strategy and outcomes that drive 1Password's sales-led growth (SLG) and product-led-growth (PLG).
This role is remote within Canada and the US.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of high performers running the paid programs that deliver pipeline and drive revenue, with full accountability for where the money goes and what it produces.
- Focus on both B2C and B2B motion, driving acquisition to product sign-ups at incredible velocity globally for the absolute category leader in consumer and business password managers.
- Generate demand across IT, Security, and Engineering buyer personas in SMB, Comm, and Enterprise with a sharp focus on North America and EMEA.
- Set the long-term strategic direction for paid channels, champion an AI-forward culture across the team, and ensure performance marketing investments are aligned with 1Password's broader business objectives.
Requirements
- 10+ years in B2B performance marketing or demand generation, with a track record of hitting pipeline and revenue contribution targets, not just managing programs.
- Demonstrated results using AI in a marketing context, specific examples of where you applied it, what changed, and what it produced.
- Proven success scaling paid programs in B2B SaaS that you can point to with real numbers.
- Deep channel expertise across paid social (LinkedIn, Meta, Reddit, etc.), paid search, programmatic, content syndication, and traditional media with results to back it up at each layer.
- Experience managing inside a sales-assisted or enterprise GTM motion, where the handoff to Sales is as important as the lead itself.
- A history of building teams that grow, retain top talent, and consistently deliver.
- Experience with AI agent frameworks or LLM-powered marketing workflows at a practical level.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, data analysis, and attribution modeling.
- Ability to develop and execute performance marketing strategies that align with business goals.
- Experience with performance marketing tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other relevant platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Passion for using AI to enhance marketing efforts and drive results.

- Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement performance marketing strategies.
- Expertise in AI and machine learning applications in marketing.
- Strong analytical skills to measure and optimize performance marketing campaigns.
- Experience in managing and leading a performance marketing team.

Pay
The annual base salary for this role is between $168,000 USD and $252,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Schedule
This role is remote within Canada and the US.
