Head of Risk & Insurance

Responsibilities

• Own and shape the company’s end-to-end insurance program, assessing risks and defining coverage needs
• Collaborate with senior leadership on risk strategy and financial planning
• Manage relationships with brokerage and insurance carriers, handling renewals and negotiations
• Create efficient claims management systems, from incident reporting to reserves management
• Develop a wider risk management strategy in partnership with internal teams like Legal and Finance
• Create internal policies, processes, and reporting structures for risk visibility
• Use analytics to monitor insurance program effectiveness and inform renewals

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, or related field
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage an insurance program with operational exposure
• Proficiency in navigating multi-jurisdictional insurance environments
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision making
• Commercially savvy, understanding the balance between cost management and risk mitigation
• Operational mindset to translate strategies into scalable processes and tools
• Hands-on leadership style with a commitment to team development
