About the role
We're looking for an experienced Head of Quality to lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) within a regulated aviation maintenance environment. This individual will ensure compliance with FAA/EASA Part 145 requirements, oversee quality assurance activities, and provide independent oversight of operational and regulatory compliance programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with applicable aviation regulations and industry standards
- Manage internal audit, compliance assurance, and certification programs
- Oversee CAPA activities, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Maintain document control processes and ensure current technical data is available and properly controlled
- Ensure calibration compliance for all measurement and test equipment
- Manage training and qualification records to maintain regulatory compliance
- Oversee supplier quality, supplier approvals, and audit programs
- Support safety and regulatory compliance initiatives in partnership with operational leadership
- Serve as the primary quality contact for regulatory audits and surveillance activities
- Provide quality performance reporting, trend analysis, and compliance updates to executive leadership
- Exercise independent authority to issue quality holds and escalate airworthiness concerns when necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred
- 7+ years of aviation MRO quality experience with leadership responsibility in a regulated maintenance environment
- Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145 and EASA Part 145 requirements
- Experience managing regulatory audits, compliance programs, and quality system certifications
- AS9110 / ISO 9001 auditing experience or lead auditor qualification
- Strong background in CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality management systems
- Experience managing supplier quality, document control, calibration, and training compliance programs
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and quality management/document control systems
- Experience supporting complex aerospace or aircraft component maintenance operations preferred
