About the Role

The Head of Product - Payer Solutions leads Innovaccer's payer product portfolio, spanning AI applications in IT, financial, and clinical operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this senior leadership role owns the product strategy and roadmap end-to-end, leads a team of product managers, partners with engineering, data science, design, and clinical operations, and collaborates with go-to-market teams to scale the strategy. The ideal candidate has taken a product or business from inception to a referenceable market position and excels as a strategist, innovator, and closer.

A Day in the Life

  • Business & Product Strategy: Define and own the end-to-end strategy for Galaxy, Innovaccer's payer solution covering risk adjustment, quality management, payment integrity, and utilization management, with agentic AI as the operating model. Develop a market-forward, AI-first product roadmap, identify expansion opportunities, and build business cases for strategic bets. Partner with the CPO to shape Innovaccer's product narrative and communicate strategy to stakeholders.
  • Go-to-Market & Commercial Ownership: Build and own the go-to-market plan for Galaxy, including target segments, buyer personas, and sales motion. Lead strategic deals by personally pitching, negotiating, and closing alongside sales teams. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success to convert pipeline and refine strategies based on market feedback.
  • Team & Execution Leadership: Work seamlessly with GTM and commercial teams to execute at market speed. Establish a high operating cadence with fast decisions, clear prioritization, and a bias toward shipping. Partner with engineering, data science, and clinical/regulatory experts to ensure market-fit products. Own key business metrics—pipeline, bookings, retention, and product adoption—and build accountability around them.
  • Market & Customer Engagement: Serve as Galaxy's external voice through customer engagements, industry conferences, analyst conversations, and press interactions. Develop deep relationships with payer CXOs, VPs of Risk Adjustment, VPs of Quality and Stars, and Medical Directors of UM. Represent Innovaccer in competitive evaluations and turn customer insights into product and GTM improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to sell: personally pitch, negotiate, and close deals with senior executives.
  • Payer domain fluency in risk adjustment, quality and Stars performance, utilization management, or value-based care economics—or the ability to rapidly gain fluency.
  • Comfort owning business outcomes (pipeline, bookings, market share) alongside product quality and adoption.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams from the ground up.
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, credible in boardrooms, analyst briefings, and payer executive discussions.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, building plans iteratively, and creating clarity for teams.

  • Experience competing against or partnering with payer point vendors or payer-owned solutions.
  • Experience scaling a health-tech or payer-tech business from early revenue to a durable market position.
  • Direct P&L ownership at a startup or business unit, including pricing and packaging decisions.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI or AI-native product architectures in healthcare.
