Job Context

We are looking for a dynamic, strategic, and result-oriented Head of Product Development to lead our Product Development and Sourcing functions. The incumbent will be responsible for driving product innovation, sourcing strategy, business development initiatives, supplier management, and client relationship management to support the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills with extensive experience in the apparel/textile industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Product Development and Sourcing team to ensure timely and successful execution of development activities.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research and industry analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, suppliers, and strategic business partners.
  • Coordinate with management to develop and implement business growth strategies.
  • Develop innovative products based on buyer requirements, market trends, and cost optimization.
  • Source and evaluate new suppliers, materials, trims, and production partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to sourcing, product development, and business expansion.
  • Analyze business and sourcing data to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
  • Prepare regular reports on product development status, business opportunities, supplier performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Track functional metrics to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and maximize profitability.
  • Ensure product development timelines are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Sales, Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Monitor global fashion trends, fabric innovations, and market demands.
  • Ensure all product development activities comply with company policies and buyer requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10-15 years
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering (TE)
  • Skills: apparel sourcing, supplier development, supplier sourcing, fabric sourcing, product development, global business development, garment manufacturing, strategic sourcing, product development, garment industry knowledge
