Responsibilities
- Develops and executes sourcing strategies that create a sustainable cost advantage by partnering with business stakeholders, optimizing spend, and driving continuous improvement across procurement processes, technologies, cost transparency, and market intelligence.
- Develops, implements and maintains logistics and packaging sourcing strategies for Americas in order to achieve business objectives and Procurement targets.
- Defines & leads tender roadmap for sourcing activities across logistics and packaging leveraging the total logistics and packaging spend volume in Americas and making best use of the synergies within the company.
- Oversees negotiations of large supply contracts and improves sourcing approach.
- Fosters global category and/or supplier strategies and ensures their implementation.
- Promotes cross functional culture and cross region business culture.
- Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with carriers and third-party service providers to ensure competitive cost and high service levels. Includes the establishment of strategic alliances and partnerships.
- Aligns with the stakeholders and management to deploy performance target.
- Member of the regional Procurement Management Team.
- Participate in Industry representations/associations (e.g. ACC) and RC14001 Management System Activities for the department
Requirements
- Bachelors degree required with 15+ years experience (Procurement, and Supply Chain management functions such as logistics) or Master’s degree with 10+ years experience strongly preferred
- Previous negotiation experience required
- High degree of analytical skills
- Excellent communications skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management and other functions
- Must possess basic knowledge of business law, "Occupational Safety & Health Act" (OSHA), "Environmental Protection Agency" (EPA) and state licensing regulations, as well as a basic understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Strong software skills regarding Microsoft office, SAP, e-catalogue systems, other tail-end management tools
