About the Role

The Head of Procurement Market Unit – North America (HPMUNA) supports the US and Canadian team’s purchasing activities to secure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance. This role develops and implements procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure quality, leveraging PERI’s resources to align procurement with company goals across regional departments such as operations, sales, and finance. The HPMUNA also leads the regional procurement team, driving a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to cross-functional strategic initiatives such as ERP rollouts, process harmonization programs, and Supply Quality Management frameworks.
  • Accountable for overall procurement performance in the region, including improvements in TCO, EBIT, working capital, and supply security.
  • Negotiate regional demands according to process.
  • Deliver functional leadership of the procurement teams in subsidiaries, guiding, aligning, and supporting them across a matrix setup.
  • Ensure high data quality in SAP/ERP and existing procurement systems for efficient ordering processes.
  • Create KPI transparency, translate global targets into regional objectives, and monitor target achievement.
  • Complete the RFQ process, including implementation via quantity contracts, info records, or purchase orders.
  • Continuously improve local supplier performance by tracking KPIs and initiating actions.
  • Drive global procurement requirements (e.g., LKSG, CBAM, Risk Management) through the local organization.
  • Support Category Managers and Technical Project Procurement Managers in identifying, qualifying, and managing "major suppliers" according to defined processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in strategic procurement, preferably in a global or international context.
  • Experience with SAP MM, eProcurement, and ERP-system tools.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.

  • Fluent in German or other languages is an advantage.

Pay

The allocated salary range for this position is $145,000 to $160,000 annually.
