About the role
The Head of People, US will lead the People function across the United States, partnering closely with the US senior leadership team to shape and deliver the People strategy. This role sits at the heart of the organization, making a tangible impact on the business.
Responsibilities
- Act as the trusted People partner to our US senior leadership team, providing strategic partnership and support on all people-related matters to drive performance and business outcomes.
- Own and execute the People strategy for the US, aligning closely with the global People leadership team on key areas including talent development, engagement, culture, and change.
- Use data and insight to spot patterns, guide senior leadership decision-making, and lead workforce planning, organisational design, and succession for the US.
- Take ownership of embedding company-wide initiatives (e.g. performance processes, compensation cycles, hybrid working models) across the US, ensuring they land well with senior leaders, managers and their teams.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex employee relations matters in the US, providing sound, pragmatic advice and coaching that balances risk and business need with empathy and fairness.
- Lead, manage and develop our US People Partners, building capability and consistency across the team and acting as their escalation point on complex issues.
- Lead the culture and ways of working, grounded in our leadership behaviors and values.
- Own accountability for the US People function, including budget, headcount planning and representing the People agenda to senior US leadership and, where relevant, global leadership forums.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior strategic HR leadership role (e.g. Head of People, Senior People Partner, or HR Business Partner leader), ideally in a scaling tech or international environment, with experience managing and developing a team.
- Business-savvy and commercially aware: you know how organizations function, how to assess people needs, and how to get things done through others.
- Credible with senior leaders, an excellent coach, and not afraid to challenge where needed, always with respect and empathy.
- Outcome-focused, always looking for opportunities to simplify, improve or scale a process to meet business needs.
- Strong knowledge of US employment law and multi-state compliance, with exposure to international employment contexts an advantage.
- Tech and AI-fluent, comfortable using data and a range of tools such as HRIS systems, survey platforms, spreadsheets, and AI solutions, to generate meaningful insights, build compelling cases for change, and drive greater efficiency.
- Comfortable with change, resilient and flexible; you operate well in ambiguity and enjoy solving complex people challenges.

Qualifications
- You have a degree in a related field (HR, Psychology, Organizational Development, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- You have a proven track record of driving positive change in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- You have a deep understanding of US employment laws and regulations, and experience working in a multi-state context.
- You have experience in leading a team and managing a budget.
- You have experience in performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
