About the role
We're looking for a Head of Monetization & Pricing Product Manager to build and own Redpanda's pricing and monetization strategy from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CTO & Head of Product, you'll define how customers buy Redpanda—from pricing and packaging to licensing, cloud monetization, and consumption economics. This is a highly strategic individual contributor role with company-wide scope, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Revenue Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
Responsibilities
- Define pricing models, packaging, licensing, and consumption-based commercial offerings
- Develop long-term pricing strategy aligned with product strategy, market evolution, and company objectives
- Partner with Product leadership to ensure every major product investment has a clear monetization strategy
- Build the analytical foundation for pricing decisions through customer research, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and pricing experimentation
- Partner with Finance to model revenue and margin impact, optimize cloud economics, and evaluate growth opportunities
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations to align pricing with customer buying behavior and go-to-market strategy
- Define requirements for metering, billing, licensing, entitlement management, and related commercial systems
- Lead pricing launches, packaging updates, and commercial model changes from concept through execution
- Evaluate new business models and monetization opportunities as Redpanda expands its Agentic Data Plane platform
- Serve as Redpanda's company-wide expert on pricing, packaging, and monetization strategy
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in pricing, monetization, product strategy, product management, management consulting, or a related field
- Deep expertise designing pricing and packaging strategies for enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or consumption-based products
- Experience building or evolving monetization strategies with measurable business impact
- Strong understanding of cloud economics, usage-based pricing, licensing, metering, and billing models
- Exceptional analytical skills, including financial modeling and pricing analysis
- Experience partnering effectively across Product, Engineering, Finance, and go-to-market teams
- Excellent communication and executive influence skills
- Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive cross-functional initiatives
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Experience pricing infrastructure, developer, data, AI, or enterprise platform products
- Familiarity with open-source or open-core business models
- Familiarity with cloud marketplaces and hyperscaler commercial programs (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with product-led growth and enterprise sales motions
- Familiarity with distributed systems, modern data infrastructure, or enterprise integration platforms
