Head of Global Policy

About the role

At Scale, we are dedicated to accelerating the development of AI and supporting our Government Relations function through effective policy and regulatory strategies. We are seeking a Head of Global Policy to lead our engagement with Congress, Government Agencies, Industry Trade Associations, and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own Scale's global policy strategy across all issue areas, including AI governance, federal procurement, international AI safety frameworks and more.
• Lead and grow a team of policy professionals, setting priorities and managing execution across a complex portfolio.
• Translate business objectives into policy outcomes.
• Serve as Scale's senior voice at trade associations, standards bodies, and industry coalitions; drive consensus on Scale's priority positions.
• Brief and advise Scale's executive leadership on regulatory and legislative developments affecting the business.
• Lead Scale's response to Rulemakings, Requests for Comments, and regulatory proceedings across jurisdictions.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior government officials, agency leads, and legislative staff in the US and internationally.

Requirements

8+ years experience in Policy or working in the Government.

Experience successfully securing consensus for priorities at trade associations, standards bodies.

Previous technical experience such as publishing research/peer reviewed paper, covering technology policy as an issue area within the Government, working at a technical Government Agency within the Executive Branch, or experience in the technology sector.

A history of managing multiple works streams simultaneously.

Pay

The base salary range for this full-time position in the locations of San Francisco, New York, Seattle is: $197,600—$272,000 USD.

The base salary range for this full-time position in the locations of Washington DC, Texas, Colorado, Hawaii is: $177,600—$245,000 USD.
