About the role

As the Head of Distribution - North America, your mission is to lead the evolution of the Distribution Center (DC) from a cost center to a high-impact value driver, positioning logistics as a differentiated capability while driving alignment with commercial strategies to ensure the NA DC supports growth, agility, and sustainable profitability. You will report to the Vice President of Logistics for VTBA.

Responsibilities

  • Assume full P&L ownership for the DC, driving revenue growth, cost efficiency, margin expansion, and optimal capital efficiency.
  • Position the DC as a strategic business partner, leveraging logistics capabilities to enable market share growth, enhanced customer retention, and expanded service offerings across VT Divisions.
  • Identify, develop, and scale new value-creating opportunities, including value-added services (e.g., kitting, aftermarket support, packaging solutions, expedited services) and optimized service costing models.
  • Define and execute a long-term DC expansion strategy, aligning capacity, capabilities, and network footprint with business growth plans and Divisional needs across North America.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Care, and Business Line leadership to ensure logistics strategy is fully aligned with commercial objectives, supporting customer acquisition, service differentiation, and revenue growth.
  • Lead financial planning and performance management, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term investment planning, ensuring alignment with VTBA financial targets.
  • Drive cost-to-serve transparency and optimization, balancing service levels, inventory positioning, and transportation decisions to maximize both customer value and financial performance.
  • Monitor and continuously improve key financial and operational KPIs, including cost per order line, cost-to-serve, inventory turns, working capital, and freight spend, taking proactive corrective actions when required.
  • Evaluate and prioritize capital investments (e.g., automation, systems, facility expansion) based on ROI, strategic fit, and impact on growth and efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on logistics-related risks, opportunities, and investment decisions that influence overall business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5–10 years of logistics/distribution experience.
  • Inventory management skills.
  • Operational drive and result-oriented focus.
  • Organizational and process development skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, Excel, and Access (an asset).
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage ~200K outbound order lines per year supporting global and regional distribution of product.
  • Strong communication skills to influence and convince internal parties.

Pay

Salary Range: $160,000 – $200,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

Schedule

This is an on-site role requiring your presence at our Sanborn, New York facility 100% of the time. Job location: 6416 Inducon Drive West, Sanborn, NY 14132.
