Head of Demand Generation

Augment Code · San Francisco Bay Area · Yesterday
Marketing$200k–$275k/yrFull-time

About the role

Augment Cosmos is the agent orchestration platform for engineering teams. We sell to CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and the staff engineers who evaluate the technical path — the hardest audience in B2B to reach. They block ads, ignore gated ebooks, and can smell a nurture sequence from the subject line.

We're hiring a demand gen owner to build the pipeline engine for that audience. This is a senior individual contributor role. You will set the strategy and then build the thing yourself: the target account lists, the ads, the landing pages, the sequences, the reporting. No agency, no creative queue, no team to brief. If you want to manage a team, this isn't the job. If you've been slowed down by having to brief people, it is. You'll own a pipeline number and the freedom to decide how to hit it.

Responsibilities

  • Own a pipeline number: qualified opportunities for the sales team, traceable back to the programs that created them. Forecast it with the Head of Marketing and RevOps and report against it.
  • Execute multi-channel campaigns end-to-end: paid social, paid search, email, ABM, webinars, and event motions where they pay off. Handle strategy, copy, asset build, and reporting.
  • Maintain a weekly experiment cadence: run several live tests per week, each with a stated hypothesis and a decision at the end. Kill losers fast, scale winners, and document learnings.
  • Build the systems underneath: lead scoring, funnel definitions, campaign tracking, attribution, and CRM hygiene, in collaboration with RevOps. Ensure every campaign leaves behind a playbook, template, or infrastructure to make future campaigns cheaper to run.
  • Use Cosmos and other AI tools daily to automate workflows across Marketing, Ops, and Sales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in demand generation or growth marketing at a B2B software company, including time at an early-stage company where you built the function rather than inherited it.
  • Proven end-to-end campaign ownership: audience, offer, creative, copy, build, targeting, and measurement. Ability to point at specific programs and explain why they worked.
  • Fluency across paid social, paid search, email, and ABM. Real ABM experience: account selection, orchestrated multi-touch, and engagement measurement.
  • Comfortable in the data: write your own SQL (or use agents to get close), build dashboards, define metrics, and change course based on evidence.
  • An AI-native operator: automate before delegating and build your own tooling when off-the-shelf solutions are too slow.
  • Taste: our audience is technical and skeptical. Assets must be sharp, specific, and free of enterprise marketing filler.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias to ship. Attribution will be imperfect, the category is still forming, and you'll make calls without complete information.

Qualifications

Strong signals we look for:

  • Experience marketing to developers or engineering leaders and knowing what earns their attention.
  • Built a B2B demand generation program from infancy at a fast-growing company.
  • Run programs in both North America and Europe, understanding the differing instincts (not just copy).
  • Worked at an AI or developer tools company, or are a heavy user of coding agents yourself.
  • Been the marketer sales teams actually ask for help.

Skills

Current stack: Clay and Cargo for data and enrichment, Customer.io, SFDC, PostHog, and Hex for product and analytics. You’ll likely add to it.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Mental health and family-forming support.
  • Commuter benefits, including pre-tax options and a monthly stipend.
  • Daily lunch, stocked kitchens, and regular in-office events.
  • Thoughtful office setups, plus workspace and tools stipends.
  • Onsite gym access and a pet-friendly HQ.
  • A collaborative, in-person culture built around connection and momentum.
