About the role
Tradeweb is seeking a Head of Data Risk Management to establish and lead the Firm’s data risk management capabilities, focusing on identifying, assessing, managing and communicating risks arising from the use, movement, transformation, and consumption of data across technology platforms and AI-driven use cases. The Data Risk Management function evaluates:
- Data usage across trading, analytics and reporting systems
- Data flows across internal and external platforms
- AI/ML model data dependencies and outputs
- Risks from data aggregation, transformation and replication
Responsibilities
- Design and implement an enterprise Data Risk Framework covering areas such as data misuse, data quality, data lineage and traceability, data availability, transformation risks, replication risks and AI/ML-related risks.
- Define and enforce controls and standards across the data usage lifecycle.
- Partner with Technology to map, monitor and mitigate risks associated with data flows, including identifying high-risk transformation pain points.
- Establish safeguards around data propagation, duplication, and shadow data usage.
- Lead risk oversight for AI/ML and advanced analytics, including input integrity, output reliability, and model-data dependencies.
- Ensure cross-system data integrity, consistency, and effective controls across platforms and data pipelines.
- Lead data risk incident deep dives, ensuring root cause analysis and prioritization of remediation actions.
- Embed Data Risk into broader risk frameworks and governance forums, collaborating across operational, technology, and model risk functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 12+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Data Governance, Data Risk, Model Risk or Technology Risk.
- Strong exposure to data platforms, analytics, and electronic trading environments; AI/ML or model risk experience preferred.
- Extensive experience with data architectures, pipelines, AI/ML lifecycle, and trading/technology workflows.
- Strong ability to synthesize and articulate risks across systems, data flows, and business use cases, with the credibility and influence to challenge senior stakeholders and drive risk-informed decisions.
- Proven experience designing and implementing risk frameworks and controls.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data standards and data control environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in complex organizations, including building functions, leading cross-functional initiatives and driving pragmatic risk-reduction solutions.

Pay
The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is $175,000 to $240,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
