Data Protection & Risk Management Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise data protection strategy across cloud data environments.
• Lead implementation of data discovery, PII/PHI scanning, masking, tokenization, and remediation capabilities.
• Design and deploy scalable data protection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
• Establish enterprise data risk taxonomy, measurement, monitoring, and reporting frameworks.
• Drive data risk mitigation programs and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Monitor control effectiveness, identify risks, and coordinate remediation activities.
• Lead and mentor a team of data governance analysts and engineers.
• Partner with business leaders, data owners, security, legal, risk, and compliance teams to drive adoption of data protection capabilities.
• Serve as Product Owner for data protection platforms, managing roadmaps, priorities, and Agile delivery.
• Oversee deployment and optimization of data governance, observability, and data protection technologies.
• Support enterprise data modernization, cloud migration, and governance initiatives.
• Drive training, enablement, and awareness programs across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Data Protection, Data Governance, Data Risk Management, or Data Engineering.
• 10+ years leading enterprise-scale data initiatives and teams.
• Strong expertise in data protection frameworks, metadata management, and risk management practices.
• Experience implementing PII/PHI discovery, classification, protection, and remediation programs.
• Product ownership experience in Agile environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
