Head of Consumer and Lending Compliance

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Head of Consumer and Lending Compliance to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead the consumer compliance program supporting credit and banking products, with a strong focus on regulatory oversight and practical risk management. You will partner closely with product, marketing, operations, and external banking relationships to help ensure new initiatives are built and managed in line with applicable laws and policies. The position also includes regular reporting to the Board and direct engagement with audit and regulatory stakeholders. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the consumer compliance program in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Advise on product development and marketing initiatives for credit card and banking products
• Manage a compliance team focused on monitoring, testing, and compliance communications
• Report regularly to the Board of Managers on compliance matters and program status
• Serve as liaison between the organization and its sponsor bank
• Respond to audits and regulatory inquiries regarding operations
• Conduct risk assessments to identify, assess, and manage compliance risks

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; CRCM or Juris Doctor preferred
• 10+ years of compliance experience in credit, banking, fintech, or related fields, including 4+ years overseeing a consumer compliance program
• Experience supporting fast-growing businesses is essential
• In-depth knowledge of consumer banking regulations, including UDAAP, ECOA, and related requirements
• Proven experience overseeing and shaping a Compliance Management System (CMS)

Pay

$150,500 – $215,000 annually
