Head of Consumer Compliance Advisory
About the role
The Head of Consumer Compliance Advisory is a critical partner to the Consumer line of business ensuring that regulatory expectations are understood and embedded in business processes. This role provides subject matter expertise on various regulations including Regulation Z (TILA), Homeowners Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, RESPA, and Flood Disaster Protection Act. The role manages a team of advisors who provide advice and challenge to the business and oversees the Privacy Office.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of Consumer’s products, services and processes.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships across the business, second line peers, audit and regulators.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of compliance advisors supporting the Consumer businesses and Privacy Office.
- Identify and prioritize key compliance risks within Consumer.
- Stay ahead of regulatory developments affecting the business and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Understand new products and services being proposed and work with the business to quantify and assess the compliance risks.
Requirements
- 12 or more years of experience in banking, risk management, compliance, assurance, or internal audit.
- Organizational experience managing large and complex projects and ability to interact with senior management and within a matrixed environment.
- Deep understanding of banking products and operations; regulatory requirements; and key processes, controls, and exposure areas.
- Proven leadership and management skills in a professional environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required.
- CRCM Certification Preferred.
- Strong understanding of consumer financial regulations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Experience in risk management and compliance.

Pay
$242,000 - $294,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus.
