About the role

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center At Colorado College (CSFAC) is seeking an experienced Head Of Collections to lead its art collection management efforts.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategies for the preservation and curation of the art collection. - Oversee the acquisition, deaccessioning, and exhibition of artworks. - Collaborate with curators and other departments to ensure the collection aligns with CSFAC's mission and programming. - Manage the day-to-day operations of the collections department, including staff supervision and budgeting. - Maintain relationships with artists, collectors, and other cultural institutions to expand the collection.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or related field. - Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in art museum administration or similar field. - Proven ability to manage and grow a significant art collection. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Demonstrated knowledge of art conservation practices and standards.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of art history and contemporary art movements. - Experience with digital asset management systems. - Knowledge of art market trends and proven ability to secure funding for acquisitions. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. - Familiarity with art management software and databases. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
