Head of APP Development

Overview

The turnapp is a cannabis brand-inspired app that uses QR and NFC tags to create a scan-to-collect rewards ecosystem. The role involves building the backend, QR lifecycle management, admin dashboard, and integrations that tie it all together.

Responsibilities

• Own the turnapp ecosystem, including the turnapp and collectibles engine, QR and NFC infrastructure, and app ecosystem integrations.
• Build with AI to automate processes and ensure seamless customer experiences.
• Manage and optimize the scan-to-insight pipeline, ensuring accurate and auditable data.
• Establish code review protocols, version control discipline, QA infrastructure, and release gates.
• Build and lead a team as the platform scales.
• Execute on a detailed plan within the first 90 days, including auditing the existing work and bringing in a plan for rebuilding and scaling.

Requirements

• Experience shipping a physical-to-digital product with real users and transaction volume.
• Proven experience owning a product end-to-end, including consumer mobile apps, backends, and integrations.
• Expertise in React Native, React, Next.js, Vercel, TypeScript, SQL, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Shopify, Firebase, AWS, or Supabase.
• Knowledge of dynamic QR and NFC systems at scale.
• Experience with Shopify headless integration and points or credits redemption layers.
• Ability to build and manage an admin dashboard with meaningful operational data.
• Experience with AI-powered tools and automations inside a real product or workflow.

Strong budget for the right person. Compensation dependent on the level landed on and what you've actually shipped.
