Part-time position responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Men's & Women's Golf program, including coaching, recruiting, practice planning, competition scheduling, fundraising, budgetary management, strength & conditioning, and academic monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement all aspects of the recruiting process, including identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes, engaging in communication with prospects, parents, coaches, and advisors, and attracting potential student-athletes to Manhattanville University.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA policies by communicating with the Compliance Officer.
- Direct all aspects of coaching during practice and matches, enhancing student-athletes' golf skills through team practice and one-on-one instruction.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed and work with athletics trainers and physicians to implement team wellness and conditioning programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of NCAA, Skyline Conference, Northeast Women's Golf Conference, and Manhattanville Compliance Policy and Procedures.
- Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and coordinate the program's fundraising activities.
- Schedule all contests and procure driving range and golf course facilities for practices and matches.
- Perform other additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (required).
- Current knowledge of rules and policies of the NCAA Division III.
- Intercollegiate coaching and playing experience.
- Recruiting experience at a collegiate level.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Valid driver's license.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Travel required for competitions and recruiting.
- Ability to perform golf-related physical tasks and demonstrate coaching techniques.
- Knowledge of effective coaching techniques and best practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with school administrators, parents, students, and alumni.
- Ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move sport-related equipment such as ball carts and cones.
- Ability to physically perform coaching tasks, including demonstrating drills or techniques.
- Perform game-day supervision duties, which may include lifting items over 50 lbs.
Pay
Annual salary of $13,000.
Schedule
Part-time, 29 hours or less per week.
