Head Men's Rugby Union Coach
Description
The University of Manchester has over 16,000 students and staff participating in organized sport and physical activity through the University. The University recognizes the importance of an active lifestyle in providing these opportunities for its audience and promoting their wellbeing. Delivery of the sport and physical activity strategy is managed by UoM Sport, located primarily at the Armitage Sports Centre in Fallowfield and in Manchester University Students' Union on Oxford Road. Activities are conducted across the city using various city facilities to support community participation in physical activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality coaching, management, organizing, delivering, and monitoring performance to the University of Manchester's Men's Rugby Union Club.
- Increase the performance of the club in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS).
- Lead the 1st & 2nd teams from the club who play at the performance level in the UoM Sport Pathway and participate in BUCS league games between October and March and are entered in the BUCS cup competition.
Requirements
- Experience in coaching and managing rugby at a competitive level.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
- Knowledge of British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) rules and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage training schedules and competitions.
Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant field such as sports science, physical education, or a related discipline.
- Professional coaching qualifications or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay
Pay range: £5,000 - £7,000 per season (Sep-May)
Schedule
Fixed fixtures: Oct-Mar (BUCS league games) and May (BUCS cup competition)
Benefits
Flexible working hours: 2 x 1.5 hour training sessions per week (Monday 18:00–19:30; Friday 18:00–19:30)
