Head Host

About the role

The Head Host leads the front-of-house support team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and managing reservations and seating arrangements in a casual fine-dining setting. The host stand is the first area guests see, and the Head Host monitors its cleanliness and presentation to meet the establishment's standards at all times.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational abilities to manage reservations and seating efficiently, especially during busy periods, and must coordinate with hosts, servers, and support staff to ensure guests are seated timely and in order.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests with the utmost hospitality
• Take phone calls
• Answer customer questions, particularly coordinating with customers who have upcoming reservations
• Communicate with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and support staff
• Manage reservations and waitlists
• Train host staff and assist with supervising front-of-house support staff
• Monitor dining room flow

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Prior restaurant/hospitality experience with a solid understanding of front-of-house operations (preferred)
• Prior management experience (preferred)
