About the Role

Hampshire High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Head Girls Lacrosse Coach with a strong knowledge of Girls Lacrosse and a focus on student-athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, able to coach various areas within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from the direct supervisor, and able to work with parents and the Booster Club.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level.
  • Lead an athletic program for sustained participation and success.
  • Support student-athlete's strength and speed training, fundraising, organization of equipment, and other tasks as directed to maximize student achievement and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Work with Athletic Department to assure all games, officials, and transportation is scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program.
  • Organize and oversee all program levels and areas of responsibility.
  • Communicate with Athletic Director to secure facilities to ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students.
  • Set the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student-athlete experience.
  • Communicate and plan with their assistant coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well-being of the student participants.
  • Coordinate with the Athletic Director all in-season practices.
  • Assure that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and is academically eligible, prior to practice, tryout, and competition.
  • Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforce consequences for breach of such standards.
  • Attend all student-athlete practices, and games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school-provided transportation.
  • Maintain and provide the athletic director with end-of-season individual and team records and statistics.
  • Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting and head coaching minutes.
  • Plan for the seasonal student-athlete recognition.
  • Distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment.
  • Engage in personal professional development activities.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

  • Girls Lacrosse coaching experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to manage all levels within the program, able to manage various areas within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from their direct supervisor, and able to work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club.
