About the role

Carroll College, a private liberal arts college located in Helena, Montana, invites applications for multiple full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Social Work, with primary responsibilities in the fully online Master of Social Work (MSW) program.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a collaborative and student-centered program and demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, advising, and service.
  • Prepare students for clinical practice and licensure through direct clinical practice experience in behavioral health or related fields.
  • Design and deliver a flexible, fully online MSW program grounded in trauma-informed and resilience-focused practice, evidence-based decision making, integrated and interdisciplinary approaches, and leadership in complex service systems.
  • Support students’ learning through meaningful engagement, accessible and engaging learning environments, and synchronous and immersive intensive experiences.
  • Collaborate with community partners and the broader profession to enhance student learning and workforce development.
  • Pursue a broad range of professional development activities, including applied scholarship, practice-based contributions, curriculum innovation, continuing education, community-engaged work, and leadership in professional settings.
  • Travel to campus for in-person intensives, hooding, and commencement ceremonies as needed, with travel expectations evolving over time.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of full-time, post-master’s professional clinical social work practice experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as an effective, student-centered educator.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in online pedagogy and the design of asynchronous and synchronous learning environments.
  • Valid, current, and unencumbered clinical social work license (LCSW or equivalent).
  • Expertise in teaching research and evaluation methods and/or evidence-based clinical interventions.

Description: Carroll College Nursing Faculty

The Department of Nursing is seeking a colleague who possesses exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), is committed to academic and clinical excellence, is enthusiastic about student interactions, and who supports the mission of the college.

  • Teach in the didactic phase of the program once students are enrolled.
  • Occasionally travel to clinical sites within the state and region to conduct on-site student assessments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Unencumbered Montana Registered Nurse license.
  • National certification in your clinical area within 1 year of employment.
  • Continuing education in your clinical area within one year of employment.
  • Broad clinical experience in adult and pediatric nursing.

Principal Faculty in the Physician Assistant Program

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing a new physician assistant program. The Principal Faculty position is a full-time 12-month faculty appointment in the Physician Assistant Studies program with a rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the program curriculum and competencies to meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role.
  • Teach in both the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
  • Occasionally travel to clinical sites within the state and region to conduct on-site student assessments.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a health-related field.
  • Master’s degree (or higher) from an accredited Physician Assistant/Physician Associate program.
  • Currently licensed physician assistant in good standing in the state of Montana or eligible to obtain licensure in Montana.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a PA.
  • MD, DO, or PhD.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Proficiency in basic computer technology and the ability to learn new course learning management system(s), learning platforms and educational technologies.
  • The ability to occasionally travel to clinical sites within the state and region to conduct on-site student assessments.
