Head Custodian (DPS)(Promotional and Open Competitive)

Responsibilities

• Ensures an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors.
• Oversees and supports assigned custodians in the performance of their assignments.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.).
• Two years of professional cleaning experience in a public service institution.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
• Ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time.
• Ability to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch, twist or reach out with your body, arms and/or legs.
• U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States at time of application.

Pay

$17.76 per hour

Notes

• Open Competitive applicants who have had military service will receive an additional credit of 20% if a passing grade is attained; submit a non-returnable copy of the DD214 or Certificate of Service (indicating Honorable Discharge).
• Promotional applicants must currently be employed with Dayton Public Schools; identical scores will be broken by (1) seniority and (2) random selection.
• Applicants on the Promotional eligible list will be considered before those on the Open Competitive list; identical Open Competitive scores will be broken by (1) military credit and (2) random selection.
• Final appointment is contingent upon passing a job-related medical examination, drug screen, police background investigation, and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.
