Head Coach, Track and Field/Cross Country

This position is responsible for all aspects of developing a competitive women’s and men’s cross country/track and field program in the Big Sky Conference. This includes, but is not limited to: coaching, recruiting, and retaining student-athletes; managing daily administrative duties of the program; fundraising and public relations; supervising assistants; adhering to all rules and regulations of the university, NCAA, and Big Sky.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum five years collegiate coaching/club coaching/collegiate competition
• Excellent professional/interpersonal communication skills
• Commitment to the total welfare of female and male student-athletes
• Commitment to developing a successful Division I men’s and women’s cross-country/track and field program both academically and athletically

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coaching both men and women
• Experience as a head coach, NCAA Division I, coaching at multiple levels, and program building experience
• Ties to the Northwest and West Coast Junior Colleges
• Skillset/ability that reflects commitment to student-athlete welfare and development
• Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $61,620 and $65,000 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
