About the role
The Role
Responsibilities
- Creation of nutritional-balanced weekly menus with flexible approach to menu alterations
- Ability to provide any special dietary requirements including pureed & modified meals
- Food is cooked and served at correct temperature
- Efficient and hygienic preparation of food by all kitchen staff
- Daily and weekly cleaning of kitchen is carried out
- All equipment is well-maintained and kept clean
- Ensuring food stocks and stores are well maintained, HACCP compliance is maintained
- Lead a small but dedicated team, compiling their weekly rotas
- Record and action any incidents or accidents
- Have excellent Health &Safety knowledge
- Be financially astute with good understanding of food costs
- Be innovative, creative and driven by excellence
- Stay up to date with current food trends
Requirements
- Substantial experience in Advanced Health & Hygiene
- Previous experience of working in a care home preferred
- Strong understanding of dietary needs and nutrition for older adults
Qualifications
- Full UK driving license
