Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the health, safety, and well-being of campers, including maintaining records of incidents and concerns.
- Plan weekly brief morning chats with the camp team to discuss concerns and plans.
- Create a warm, inclusive camp environment with inquiry, exploration, and respect in mind.
- Organize physical camp activities and materials in a way that is inviting and accessible for children.
- Engage children in exploration, encouraging process over product, and coach them through understanding their feelings and problem-solving conflicts.
- Build respectful and reciprocal relationships with families, communicating consistently with them via pictures and updates.
- Collaborate with staff, mentor Associate and Assistant Counselors, and show professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or holding a MA in education or related field and/or five years plus experience working full-time in preschool or school environments.
- A minimum of three years of professional teaching experience in an early childhood setting.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with families, children, and colleagues.
