HD Coating Operator I

Starting pay: $22.28/hour. Shift differential: $0.50/hr for day shift and $2.50/hr for night shift.

About the role

As a Coating Operator you will perform tasks on various coating machines, ensuring coating slurry and raw substrates meet required specifications. You will start equipment to transfer slurry to the coater machine, set scale limits, and regulate pump operation pressure to assure proper slurry supply. You will also enter production information into computer systems for lot packages, downtime sheets, and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and specification sheets to set and control coating machines, regulating speed of coating, flow of chemical slurries, and temperature of drying ovens to maintain customer quality requirements.
• Utilize work instructions to guide and troubleshoot coater systems, making appropriate adjustments to ensure proper operation.
• Clean and maintain coating machines and associated feed tanks, plumbing, and pumps.
• Complete administrative entries such as Process Lot Tickets, standard process control charts, and other operational forms.
• Load substrates onto a line or pack substrates into boxes.
• Use a forklift to maneuver parts and materials in the area.
• Screen parts for quality issues.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting skills within assigned processes.
• Handle multi-task assignments and work with minimal supervision.
• Address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations while performing tasks that may require multiple steps.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Manufacturing and/or production work-related experience (preferred).
• Experience operating machines (preferred).

Skills

• Ability to troubleshoot coater systems and make adjustments.
• Proficiency in handling multi-task assignments.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay

The competitive pay range for this role is $22.28/hourly. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
