Responsibilities
- Lead the quality, safety, strategy, and production efficiency of the Coating Production Cells within the Huntsville site.
- Support the operation of a Coating Cell through an operational excellence journey and tactical plans to deliver high-quality products and profitability.
- Provide strong Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leadership for your team and the Huntsville site.
- Coordinate peer leadership to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.
- Develop and execute initiatives to improve long-term department performance and address immediate production issues.
- Organize, participate in, and lead projects and improvement discussions.
- Develop training materials to communicate changes to production equipment and facilitate team growth.
- Improve cycle time, uptime, scrap reduction, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Act as the primary technical lead for capital investment projects, from feasibility through implementation.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality and safety incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities and support quality investigations.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma and process control methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot plant problems and optimize plant performance, focusing on coater uptime and cycle time improvements.
- Work closely with production supervisors, operators, maintenance, and quality teams to improve productivity and ensure smooth operations.
- Support departmental needs in addition to cell support.
- Responsible for a 24/7 production operation, including after-hours phone support and site travel as needed.
- Ensure assigned Cell’s overall performance aligns with site KPIs.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in an industry-related discipline.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Production Engineering, or automotive catalysts engineering.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and process controls.
- Experience organizing and executing optimization projects.
- High proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and SQL data mining.
- Experience with data analysis, technical writing, and presentation building.
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control, statistical analysis, and quality systems/improvement tools.
- Experience working with large, diverse teams of engineers, supervisors, and shop floor operators.
- Strong commitment to safety culture and experience investigating safety incidents.
- Ability to act quickly and decisively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and motivation skills, with a desire to engage on the shop floor.

Pay
The competitive pay range for this role is $75,000–$95,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
