HCH Building Attendant

Primary Purpose Of Job & Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this job is to provide day-to-day setup, cleaning, and maintenance at Harrigan Centennial Hall ("HCH") to ensure a useful, clean, pleasant, and safe environment for all individuals visiting or involved in scheduled events.

• Lays out various rooms according to patron needs to facilitate successful events.
• Sets up HCH's audio, visual, sound, or other equipment and provides instructions and assistance to patrons.
• Engages with tourists and visitors, providing accurate information about attractions, activities, and excursions.
• Performs janitorial duties including cleaning restrooms and kitchen, vacuuming, and washing windows.
• Notifies the Building Supervisor when cleaning supplies are low and stocks new supplies.
• Maintains HCH kitchen to meet state health standards.
• Performs light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and fixtures.
• Carries out snow removal on sidewalks and ensures safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Of Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Standard equipment and materials used in building maintenance and janitorial duties.
• Audiovisual equipment, sound systems, and virtual meeting platforms (desirable).
• Theater lighting systems (desirable).
• Operational policies and procedures of a community multi-purpose facility.
• Operating a personal computer and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various computer meeting platforms.
• Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks.
• Skills in operating a personal computer and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and various computer meeting platforms.
• Knowledge of theater lighting systems (desirable).
• Knowledge of operational policies and procedures of a community multi-purpose facility (desired).

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Some work experience performing janitorial, maintenance duties, or customer service.
• Experience working in a community center or conference facility (desired).
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Other Job Requirements Or Expectations

• Employees are expected to be available to work variable hours, nights, and weekends, as needed.
• Ability to operate, or learn to operate, a hydraulic lift within 6 months of hire.
