HBSS Engineer/Administrator
Job Description
We are seeking motivated engineers to support geographically dispersed systems that integrate Linux and Microsoft services. This role focuses on operating and optimizing Host Based Security System (HBSS) and Endpoint Security Solution in a Microsoft Windows Server environment. The selected candidate will design, support, and harden solutions throughout the project lifecycle within a large-scale, multi-domain enterprise environment, embracing a DevOps model.
Responsibilities
- Provide McAfee HBSS Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) support across various environments.
- Perform performance tuning for systems and troubleshoot HBSS components.
- Deploy, maintain, and tune McAfee clients to meet current and future standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot management systems.
- Monitor HBSS software to ensure clients and servers are operational and reporting properly.
- Ensure the environment is updated according to established standards and guidelines.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/ CI Poly
- Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification or a similar IAT Level II certification.
- Experience in McAfee HBSS ESS design and management.
- Expert-level knowledge of McAfee ePO and strong experience with the McAfee HBSS ecosystem, including modules such as HIPS, DLP, and VSE.
- Hands-on experience with policy creation, tuning, and exclusions for HIPS firewall, application whitelisting, and VSE.
- Knowledge of using and applying vulnerability assessment tools, including Nessus, SCAP, STIGs, and SRGs.
- Experience with ACAS/Nessus scanning, administration, and maintenance.
- Exposure to both Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Experience managing work tasks using ticketing systems such as JIRA or ServiceNow.
- Completion of DoD 301 HBSS Advanced Administrator Course.
- Completion of DoD 501 HBSS Analyst Course.
- Experience engineering or administering workloads in cloud solutions such as AWS or Azure.
