About the role

The Hyperbaric Safety Director at Healogics is responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy, operating and maintaining hyperbaric chambers, and ensuring patient safety. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, educate, and orient patients about hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider.
  • Maintain and operate hyperbaric chambers and related support systems.
  • Participate in safety programs and conduct safety drills.
  • Evaluate equipment and supply used in the chamber to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and revise department policies and procedures.
  • Lead the hyperbaric safety program activities and initiatives.
  • Document safety-related events and discuss them with others to facilitate learning.
  • Ensure department compliance with NFPA 99 (Health Care Facilities Code).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) certification preferred.
  • Pre or post-hire completion of an approved Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Safety course.
  • Pre or post-hire completion of an approved hyperbaric Medicine Introductory course.
  • Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in state of practice.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in healthcare.
  • Prior experience in wound or critical care.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
  • Hyperbaric equipment and related systems troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail.
