About the role
The Hazmat CDL Driver supports mission-critical transportation and logistics activities involving hazardous materials, fuel transport operations, and specialized vehicle movement in support of government and military operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL-class vehicles, including fuel tankers and hazmat transport vehicles
- Transport hazardous materials, fuel, and mission-related supplies to and from government and military facilities
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company safety standards
- Ensure proper placarding, documentation, and handling of hazardous materials
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, DOT, OSHA, and hazmat transportation regulations
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures while loading, transporting, and unloading materials
- Cook up with dispatch personnel, site managers, and government representatives
- Maintain accurate trip logs, inspection reports, and transport documentation
- Operate professionally and safely on military installations and secure government facilities
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or B license (Class A preferred)
- Current Hazmat Endorsement required
- Tanker Endorsement required
- Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
- Experience operating fuel tankers or transporting hazardous materials
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations
- Strong understanding of DOT hazmat regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to work flexible and intermittent schedules based on operational needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting government or military logistics operations
- Experience working on or around military installations
- TWIC card preferred
- Familiarity with fuel handling and spill prevention procedures
- Prior experience with tactical or specialized transport operations
