About the role

Haul Truck Driver responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Other duties may be assigned.

• Loads truck by hand or by operating mechanical loader.
• Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt body and dump contents.
• Perform inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals, and brakes.
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements, size up load.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and legislation; at all times observes and operates within applicable traffic laws.
• Communicate with other Haul Truck Drivers and equipment operators using communication devices such as a two-way radio or onboard computers.
• Moves hand and foot controls to jerk truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material adhering to body.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of haul truck driving experience or a minimum of 2 years of training with at least 6 months of equivalent work experience.
• Must have 1+ year in maintaining log books.
• Willing to do labor work.
• Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
