Hatchery Manager - 1st Shift - Eufaula, AL

About the role

This position oversees the daily operations of the hatchery, managing projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and implementing personnel policies. Key responsibilities include making weekly projections, collaborating with Quality Control, overseeing mechanical performance, and coordinating with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Make weekly projections and seek external resources as needed.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure procedures are followed and proper cleaning is performed.
• Calculate hatchery mechanical performance and ensure preventative maintenance is in place.
• Assist supervisors in training and handling day-to-day interactions with team members.
• Work with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to produce high-quality eggs.
• Manage chicks' environment with Broiler Growers and Technicians.
• Fumigate and maintain eggs during incubation.
• Arrange for chicks to be delivered to the farm.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of management experience, preferably in poultry and hatchery settings.
• Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with computers, including email, document templates, and simple queries.
• Supervisory Skills: Ability to supervise a team of personnel in a single department or work unit.
