Job Summary

The Lead is responsible for maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the slaughter process, accurate record keeping and general line maintenance and staffing. They will be responsible for being an example to other Team Members using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate a Creekstone Proud culture through attitude and actions.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure that company standards and policies are properly taught and maintained to support company goals
  • Strategically make decisions about the distribution of job tasks for maximum efficiency
  • Provide service to and enhance the learning experience of new team members
  • Develop and promote positive working relationships with all team members
  • Must understand and have a Creekstone Proud mindset
  • Maintain correct, and accurate documentation
  • Responsible for providing coverage for workers needing to leave at unscheduled times or absenteeism
  • Notify Supervisor of all unscheduled line stops due to problems
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, and safe work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Meat Industry experience required
  • Knowledge of how Harvest operations are connected to the whole beef production process
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to present ideas, concepts, issues, concerns, and questions in a well thought out, positive, and professional manner
  • Ability to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and respect
  • Functional with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to work productively and independently
  • Clear communication skills verbally and in written form
  • Ability to coach and develop others into becoming a better employee
  • Leadership skills such as but not limited to conflict resolution, encouraging others and inspiring good work
  • Able to take direction humbly and collaborate in order to define and pursue team goals
  • A positive outlook and attitude in taking initiative and problem solving, unprompted

Physical Requirements

  • Climbing, stooping, and crouching occasionally
  • Standing for 8 or more hours per day
  • Walking frequently
  • Pushing, pulling, and grasping to move materials
  • Must be able to lift and carry for short distances, 0 - 100+ lbs
  • Able to work in various environments such as humid, heat, wet, cold
  • Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) occasionally, hard hat, safety-toe boots, safety goggles, hair/beard net, etc
