PURPOSE
Aid in providing care supervision and learning activities to preschool-age children in a classroom setting; assist with planning and implementing activities tailored to the needs and interests of children with special educational needs.
Work Schedule
- School year
- Shifts typically between 7:15am and 3:30pm
- Exact hours may vary based on school needs and position allocation

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Flexible to meet changing student needs
- Strong tutorial skills
- Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents
- Desire to see young people succeed
- Positive attitude
- Independent task completion ability
- Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices
- Basic instructional methods and techniques
- Willingness to supervise students in community settings
- Participation in training provided by the Special Education Department
- Preferably highly-qualified candidate
Required Education and Certifications
- Two years of college experience from an accredited college
- Two-year college degree from an accredited college
- Pass the Para-Pro Assessment
- One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment in a school or working with children
- Annual school-level evaluations completed
- 48 credit hours of college level classes from an accredited college
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials required by NAEYC
